INDEPENDENCE – Ellen Catherine Chapman, 90, of Independence, MO passed away on Tuesday, January 18 in Independence, MO. Visitation at 11:00 a.m., funeral service at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 27, 2022 at Royer Funeral Home in Grain Valley, MO. Burial to follow at Mount Washington in Independence, MO.

Mrs Chapman was born to Ephrom and Effie Trotter on May 17, 1931 in Kansas City, MO. She graduated from East High School in 1949. Over the years she worked at Montgomery Ward, K-Mart and Western Electric.

She was preceded in death by her husband John “Jackie” Chapman, her son Kenneth Chapman and 2 sisters. Ellen is survived by her son John A. Chapman, 2 brothers, 4 grandchildren & 6 great grandchildren.
