The Independence Young Matrons will present their 60th annual Children’s Theater production Friday through March 5.

The play is “The Wizard of Toyland,” a program written and directed by Ray Ettinger. The program addresses how bullying can be overcome through friendship and cooperation.

Independence School District students from kindergarten through the third grade, local preschool students, and residents of senior adult facilities have been invited to attend several performances.

The final performance – free and open to the community – is at 7 p.m. March 5 in the auditorium at the William Chrisman High School, 1223 N. Noland Road, Independence.

Following this evening performance, there will be a reception with a display highlighting past performances.
