It’s that time of year when celebrations abound for teens who are graduating from high school. Here in Independence there are some who have had to work even harder to make their dream of graduating from high school a reality. The Independence Ministerial Alliance is hosting a Graduation Celebration for Homeless Teens who attend Independence High Schools.

Starting out in life – whether that means on to college or into the work force – can be challenging. It is their hope that they can make this transition easier for these young men and women, whose lives have been especially difficult, by providing gift cards to purchase necessary items. The Alliance will also cover their cost to attend Project Grad so they can celebrate along with their friends.

Individuals and groups are asked to please consider helping them to give these graduates a good start as they continue on their journey. Tax deductible donations can be made through the Independence Ministerial Alliance.
