Xi Xi Sigma has chosen Kim Rick as their president for the calendar year of 2016-2017. She will be sworn in to office, along with the rest of the incoming board, on May 10 at a regular chapter meeting and will assume her position on May 24.
Joining Kim on the new board will be: Sherry Schowengerdt-Vice President, Dona Mandrell-Treasurer, Shirley Riggs-Recording Secretary and Nancy Fisher-Corresponding Secretary.
Kim joined Beta Sigma Phi in 2000 and has been active ever since in various chapters. After a short leave, she joined Xi Xi Sigma in the spring of 2015 and picked up right where she left off, by chairing contact committee, social committee and program committee. As social chair, Kim kept everyone busy by planning a full calendar of social events. In past chapters she has served in all capacities of Beta Sigma Phi by holding all offices and chairing all committees, so she is well deserving of the office of President.
Kim is married to Trevor Rick and they have two sons between them, Trevor Jr. and Jacob Brunk. Kim grew up in Independence, but has resided for several years in Pleasant Hill. She is a government employee, in the division of Social Security, at the downtown Federal building.
Favorite things that take up Kim’s free time are attending concerts with her son, Jacob, and spending time with her friends, family and sorority sisters. Kim is a huge fan of Roller Derby in KC and is a loyal Royals fan that enjoys going to games or getting together with friends to watch games.
The chapter is looking forward to another exiting year, and these officers will make sure it will be. Congratulations to each of the incoming officers.
