The Whole Person, a nonprofit center for independent living, invites art enthusiasts to the opening night and reception of the 7th Annual Expressions Art Exhibition. Artists with disabilities will exhibit their artwork, while making connections with the art community.

This Exhibition provides opportunities for artists with disabilities to overcome barriers that may keep them from showing their art in a professional setting, allowing them to share their perspectives and experiences with the community.

The opening exhibition will take place April 7 at Kansas City Young Audiences, 3732 Main St., Kansas City. Attendees can view selected artwork and chat with artists from 6 to 10 p.m. Guests will also enjoy live music and dance performances, a wine ring toss, silent auction, a tile art project and refreshments.

Following the exhibit opening, artwork will be displayed in multiple locations around the metropolitan area on both sides of the state line, beginning with a branch of the Johnson County Library.
