George “GB” Jones, 89, Blue Springs, passed Monday, April 4, 2022, at the Parkway in Blue Springs, MO.

A celebration will be held from 5:30-8 pm Friday, May 20 at Lee Andrews Hall & Gardens, 8510 SW State Route 7, Blue Springs, MO.

George was born in Linneus, MO, on March 8, 1933, to Noel Mack Jones and Florence Georganna Gish Jones. He grew up in Linneus, MO and married his high school sweetheart, Kathleen Noland, on October 5, 1952.

He ran Jones Transfer and Produce in Linneus for about 15 years, followed by a career of over 25 years with the State of Missouri auditing small businesses in north central Missouri.

He was an active member of the Masonic Lodge and Past Master of Jackson Lodge #82 in Linneus. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Linneus until 1999. After moving to Blue Springs in 1999, he joined the First United Methodist Church.

George is survived by daughter Diana, Portland, OR; two sons, Tom of Blue Springs, MO and Ed (Jerry) of Casper, WY; brother Calvin Jones of Liberty, MO; three cousins; seven grandchildren; four greatgrandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by twin sister Helen, in 1967; wife Kathy, in 2015 and son Sam, in 2013.
