Geraldine L. “Geri” Nicholas, 95, of Blue Springs, Mo. passed away on September 18, 2022. She was born June 5, 1927, the daughter of Albert and Mary Domann, in Winchester, Kan.
Geri was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Irene Evans, Helen Domann, Aletha Domann, Grace Curran, Kathryn Johnson; brother, Bernard Domann. Survived by her sister, Darlene Domann; sister-in-law, Kay Domann.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, September 23, 2022, at St. John LaLande Catholic Church, 805 N.W. RD Mize Rd, Blue Springs. Her family will receive family and friends from 10 – 11 a.m. prior to the start of mass at the church. Her family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. John LaLande Catholic Church or St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Memphis, Tenn. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Kansas City, Mo.
In 1950, Geri married Bruce Nicholas and they were blessed with four children, Barbara Teter (Steve), Beverly Hunter, Stephen Nicholas (Trisha), Michael Nicholas (Esther); 13 grandchildren; 22 greatgrandchildren. Bruce died January of 1993. After high school, Geri joined the Army Cadet Corp. in training at St. Joseph School of Nursing. She worked as a RN for many years at St. Mary’s Hospital. Geri was a devoted member of St. John LaLande Catholic Church and active in the Rosary Altar Society. She was a mass lector, Eucharistic minister and leader of the Rosary before Mass. For many years, Geri was a member of Delta Iota Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha. She and her sorority sisters worked to help support St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Geri’s accolades include employee of the year at St. Mary’s Hospital in 1987, recognition of outstanding service to Golden Agers 1997, Outstanding Woman of the Year Missouri State Council of ESA 2000-2001, Blue Springs Missouri Outstanding Citizen of the year nominee 2002, St. Mary’s Medical Center Heroes in Healthcare, class of 2013.
She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
