Gladys (Boschert) Stramel, 84, of Higginsville, formerly of Blue Springs, died December 16, 2022, at her daughter’s home in DeSoto, Kan.
 She was born May 7, 1938, in Grandview, Mo. to Leo and Pauline (Brown) Boschert.
 She married Julian Stramel on May 12, 1962, in Raytown, Mo. They raised their family in Blue Springs and moved to Higginsville in 1998.
 Gladys worked at MCI and St. Mary’s Hospital for a couple of years each and in the cafeteria of the R-4 school district off and on for over 10 years.
 She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, scrapbooking, horseback riding, playing cards and dancing.
 She is preceded in death by Jul; her brothers, Robert and Eugene Boschert; sisters, Juanita Hillman and Shirley McCann.
 She is survived by: son, Mike Stramel (Ronica) of Independence; daughters: Paula Cook of Warsaw, Pam Kreutzer (Mark) of DeSoto, Nicole Webber of Kansas City, Kan.; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren.
 Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, December 27 at 2:30 p.m. at Kaiser ~Wiegers Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Jerry Bayse.
 Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
 She will be entombed at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery.
