INDEPENDENCE, MO – John Stone, Thumm, 94 of Independence, MO passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at the Kansas City Hospice House. Cremation is planned with memorial services pending at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family wishes to have donations made in his name to Kansas City Hospice or Stone Church. John was born September 23, 1927 in Philadelphia, PA to Charles and Clara (Stone) Thumm and has been a longtime area resident. He was a minister in the RLDS (later the Community of Christ) for several years and attended the Community of Christ Stone Church. He proudly served in the US Army during WWII. He is survived by; 2 daughters, Pamela Spain and Cindy Woodley both of Independence, MO; also, 2 grandchildren, Jamie Mullins, (her daughters Hailey, Mackenzie); John Woodley (his wife Brandie and their sons, Skyler and Clayton). and 4 great grandchildren.
