Kayla M. (Duncan) Kloss, 31, of Holden, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, February 6th, surrounded by family, after a 3 ½ year battle with stage 4 cancer.
Kayla was born in September 1990 to Laura (Leslie) Weatherford and Darin J. Duncan in Springfield, Missouri. Kayla lived in Springfield, Joplin, Jefferson City and Lebanon, Missouri and eventually moved to Blue Springs, Missouri where she graduated high school in 2009.
After graduation, Kayla worked in Retail and Retail Management for almost 10 years. Kayla was passionate about people and customer service and loved what she did for a living. She was an avid fan of all things Disney and trips to Disney World. She loved to travel and especially loved trips to the ocean.
In 2005 she met Chris Kloss in High School at College Heights Christian School while residing in Joplin, Missouri. They dated until Chris moved back East to Virginia. They reunited in February of 2012 and were married later that year.
Kayla loved God, her family, and friends. She dedicated her life to helping those around her. She was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, and friend, even taking on the role of mother in raising her younger sister for the last several years.
Kayla was predeceased by her Sister Brittany Duncan and Grandfather Jessie Duncan. Kayla is survived by her husband Chris (Holden, MO), Mother Laura Weatherford (Springfield, MO), Father Darin (Cheryl) Duncan (Blue Springs, MO), Great-Grandmother Twila Elam (Lebanon, MO), grandparents Rick and Joy Leslie (Springfield, MO), Aleeta Duncan (Lebanon, MO), siblings Dyllon (Brooke) Duncan (Holden, MO), Holly Weatherford (Holden, MO), and Olivia Duncan (Blue Springs, MO), as well as numerous Aunts, Uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Services will be held at Lakeland Community Church, Saturday, February 12th 913 NE Colburn Rd, Lees Summit, MO 64086. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. and the celebration of life will be at 2:00 p.m.
