St. Cyril’s Church Mardi Gras, Sugar Creek style
St. Cyril’s Church is sponsoring a “Fat Saturday” fundraiser at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Mike Onka Hall, 11520 E. Putnam, Sugar Creek.
Tickets include a full dinner, beer and wine, as well as music by the Sugar Creek Tamburitzans, several raffles and a silent auction. Tickets in advance are $25 for adults and $12 for children ages 6 to 12. Tickets are $30 at the door.

Scouts to lead Stone Church Sunday service
The Stone Church Boy Scout troop will be the focus of the service at 10:15 a.m. Sunday. The Scouts have planned this service and will be the participants.

Trinity Episcopal is site of Scout pancake breakfast
Boy Scout Troop 282 will hold its 71st annual Pancake Day from 6 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 25 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 409 N. Liberty St., just north of the Independence Square. The cost is $5 for an all-you-can-eat event that supports the Scout troop.
Timothy Lutheran sponsors Community Fair
The Livewell Community Fair will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 7 at Timothy Lutheran Ministries, 301 E. Wyatt Road, Blue Springs.
This fair will provide an opportunity to learn about local programs, services, and youth activities available in the area. Representatives of the Kansas City Chiefs’ program, “Play 60,” will be present encouraging children to participate in healthy exercise for 60 minutes each day.
Also available will be representatives of multiple resources in the area that support physical, emotional and spiritual health. Information on a healthy diet will be presented as will information on adult exercise and wellbeing. There is no charge for this event. For further information, call 816-228-5300.
