Michael Edward Daugherty died 9-11-22 in Independence, Mo. at the age of 73. He was born 3-9-1949 in Belmont, Ohio. Michael retired in 1988 from the United States Air Force as a Vietnam veteran with over 20 years of honorable service. He also retired in 2004 from the South Carolina Department of Corrections as a Captain.

He is survived by his son Paul Michael Daugherty, daughter- in- law Katie Abbot Harris, and granddaughter Sparrow Jane Daugherty, who reside in North Carolina; as well as two brothers, James C. Daugherty in Florida, Matthew S. Daugherty in Illinois, and his sister Roberta J. Chatelain in Louisiana.

Michael was preceded in death by his loving wife Ruth Ellynn (Grice) Daugherty, his brother Ronald A. Daugherty, and his parents Robert J. Daugherty and Ruth C. (Cook) Daugherty. Services will be held at a later date in Greenville, N.C.
