Two seniors from William Chrisman High School have been honored by the Rotary Club of Independence as students of the month.
• Brigit Leutzinger has received the McCoy Award, which goes to the top 50 students in a class. She is a member of National Honor Society and is on the principal’s honor roll and the A honor roll.
She is a varsity player on the golf team and a member of the German Club and Honors German Club. She has volunteered for Project Shine and Harvesters and has tutored elementary school students for the A-Plus program.
She plans to attend Missouri S and T to major in mechanical engineering, perhaps with a minor in pre-law. She’s interested in working for a company with an interest in creating more environmentally conscious vehicles and utilities.
Her parents are Cynthia and William Leutzinger.
• Justin Dickerson is ranked 17th in his class of 320 and is a member of the National Honor Society. He also received a Missouri Boys State award.
He has been involved in basketball, WCHS Elevate, Amnesty International and has worked on the school yearbook and newspaper.
He intends to attend Northwest Missouri State University for two years, then transfer to Missouri State University and major in computer programming.
His parents are Angela and Robert Dickerson.
