Independence Police are trying to identify this woman in reference to an armed robbery at the Kmart at 4023 S. Noland Road at 9:50 p.m. March 25.

The suspect is described as a black female in her 20s, 5-foot-4 and about 150 pounds, with medium-length black hair in braids and pulled back in a ponytail, wearing black AERO sweatshirt and black pants. The second suspect, another black female, was the driver of the vehicle.

The suspect vehicle is a black older-model Nissan or Toyota Camry with a rear spoiler and Missouri license plates.

According to police, on March 25 the first suspect retrieved a shopping cart full of merchandise that was behind the employees-only entrance doors. The cart had been involved in an attempted larceny the previous night. When approached, the suspect said she was going to purchase the items the night before but had to return to make the purchase. She then pushed the cart out the doors without paying, and when confronted sprayed several employees in the face with mace. She then left the cart and got into the suspect vehicle, which nearly struck an employee when backing up and struck an occupied vehicle in the parking lot when it fled the area.

Anyone with information as to the identity of the pictured subject is asked to contact the TIPS Hotline (816) 474-TIPS or IPD tips at (816) 325-7777 or email
