Friday morning’s Constitution Day Naturalization Ceremony at the Truman Library marked the first day of United States citizenship for 42 people from 24 countries.

New citizens came from Canada, Cambodia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Ethiopia, Ghana, Greece, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Iran, Iraq, Jamaica, Kenya, Liberia, Mexico, Pakistan, Philippines, Somalia, Ukraine and Vietnam.

The keynote speaker was LTC Richard Hilliard, ROTC Senior Army Instructor at Kansas City Northeast High School, the Van Horn High School varsity choir provided music and the Missouri Society Sons of the American Revolution Color Guard presented the colors.
