An article on the front page of The Moberly Monitor-Index on this day one year ago took a look at a newly proposed gas rate for Ameren Missouri customers. The rate, which was under review by the Missouri Public Service Commission, would likely have been the lowest in the previous 16 years.

In other front-page news on March 21, 2016, was the story of a historic bus that used to ride the streets of downtown Moberly that had disappeared from its spot and reappeared in Renick. The bus had reportedly been stolen, taken for a joyride and then abandoned.

Also on the front page was a question-and-answer article with state Rep. Tim Remole, who answered questions about how he served residents of Moberly and Randolph County through his work in Jefferson City.

Also, the Moberly City Council was set to gather that day for a regular meeting in City Hall.
