ACADEMIC HONORS: Class Rank: 1 out of 495; 35 ACT, Grand Marshal, Missouri Scholars 100, AP Scholar with Distinction (10 AP Classes), KMBC Scholar Athlete, Boys State, Bright Flight.

MAJOR EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES: I run high school and AAU track, specializing in the hurdles and mid-distance, and I have also run cross country for 3 years. In addition, I played basketball for 3 years at south, and took my talents to JYE, the agape hoops league champions, for my senior year. I’m also the NHS treasurer, and a member in FBLA, Varsity Physics, Math Club, Young Democrats, and competed in Mr. Jaguar. Lastly, I play piano in my free time.

• Who was your most inspirational teacher and why? South has incredible teachers, most of whom have had a considerable impact on me, but Mr. Harding has had the biggest. Mr. Harding, is my Calculus BC teacher this year, and has been my cross country coach for 3 years, and hurdles coach in track for 4 years. He is an absolute genius, and loves to poke fun at people when they try to be smarter than him. His goofiness, lightheartedness, and support has inspired me to work hard in the classroom and on the track, but also to be a better person.

• What college do you plan to attend and why did you choose that school? I will be attending Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. I chose Cornell, for a multitude of reasons. First off, it was a lifelong dream of mine to attend an Ivy League school, especially one world-renown in Physics. In addition to continuing my academic career, I will be able to run track at Cornell. Ultimately, I picked Cornell because of the opportunity to meet and build new relationships with such exceptional people from around the world.
