George Wolf has been appointed by Gov. Eric Greitens as a Circuit Court Judge for the 16th Judicial Circuit, which covers Jackson County. Wolf, who has more than 30 years experiences with civil cases with the Kansas City firm Shook, Hardy & Bacon, replaces Brent Powell, whom Greitens appointed earlier this year to the Missouri Supreme Court.
Wolf earned his undergraduate degree in civil engineering from the University of Missouri and his law degree from Northwestern University. He has chaired his firm's division of 200 general litigation attorneys for eight years.
For the past 10 years, Wolf has served on the Board of Commissioners for the Port Authority of Kansas City, including board chair since 2012, and he also has served on the boards of the Downtown Council of Kansas City and the Kansas City Streetcar Transportation Development District, as well as church leadership.
In 2015, Ingram's Magazine named Wolf as one of “50 Missourians You Should Know.”
