Gerald Dickens, the great-great-grandson of Charles Dickens, will present a series of one-man performances of his relative's famous work “A Christmas Carol” at several Mid-Continent Public Library branches.

Dickens, a professional actor in England, will be at the North Independence Branch at 2 p.m. Sunday and the Blue Springs North Branch at 10 a.m. Tuesday. In addition, Dickens will be at the Parkville Branch and Woodneath Library Center at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Monday, respectively, and the Raytown Branch at 7 p.m. Tuesday. All shows are free.

On Nov. 27-28, David zum Brunnen will offer his own performance of “A Christmas Carol.” He will be at the Midwest Genealogy Center at 2 p.m. Nov. 27 and at the Woodneath Library Center at 7 p.m. that day. The next day, he will be at the Lee's Summit Branch at 2 p.m. and the North Independence Branch at 7 p.m.
