Independence Police are asking the public for help in identifying and a locating a suspect from at least four armed robberies of businesses along or near U.S. 24 in Independence since Jan. 1. In all four of these cases, the suspect pointed a pistol at store employees and robbed them of cash.

The robberies occurred on the following dates at these locations:

• Jan. 1, 7:30 p.m.: Subway, 911 N. Noland Road

• Jan. 3, 9:34 p.m.: Family Dollar, 11213 E. U.S. 24

• Jan. 7, 8:24 p.m.: Dollar General, 421 E. U.S. 24

• Jan. 12, 8:59 p.m.: Dollar General, 421 E. U.S. 24

The suspect is described as a male of unknown race in his 20s, with a medium-dark skin complexion, about 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8 and about 150-175 pounds, wearing a dark hoodie with white lining, blue jeans, tan and black shoes and a black or red bandanna. He has used a black handgun.
