Riley Burrus, SR, and Don Gfeller were honored by The National Society of The Daughters of The American Revolution for their contribution to the preservation of the Chicago and Alton Railroad Depot in Blue Springs. NSDAR Historic Preservation certificates and pins were presented by Phyllis Wilkins, Historic Preservation Chair of the Blue Springs Chapter DAR, at the meeting Jan. 13.
As renovation stage concludes, Riley and his wife, Kay, continue to search the Internet and travel to find Chicago & Alton Railroad artifacts to display at the Depot. Riley and Don conduct tours of the Depot, by appointment, sharing history of Blue Springs, the Depot and its importance to Blue Springs.
