A Kansas City man and woman face federal charges in an alleged armed robbery spree that targeted hotels in Eastern Jackson County.

Aaron Fisher, 46, and Dawn Baldwin, 49, both of Kansas City, were charged in a 16-count indictment returned by a federal grand jury in Kansas City on May 2.

The indictment, which replaces a criminal complaint that was filed on April 6, was released Monday. The pair remains in federal custody without bond.

They are charged with one count of conspiracy to commit robbery, seven counts of armed robbery, seven counts of use of a firearm in a crime of violence and one count of a felon in possession of a firearm.

According to court documents, Fisher and Baldwin together allegedly robbed the Holiday Inn Express on East Valley View Parkway in Independence on Dec. 31, 2017, and the Comfort Inn Motel on Northwest Jefferson Street in Grain Valley on Jan. 21, 2018.

By himself, Fisher also allegedly robbed Blue Ridge Food Stop in Kansas City and a Subway restaurant in Lee’s Summit on Dec. 20, 2017; a Papa Murphy’s pizza restaurant in Raytown on Jan. 4, 2018; the Four Points Sheraton hotel in Kansas City on Jan. 15, 2018; and Trex Mart in Lathrop, Mo., on April 2, 2018.

If convicted, they face up to 20 years in federal prison for conspiracy to commit robbery, up to 10 years for being a felon in possession of a firearm, up to 20 years on each count of armed robbery, and 7 to 25 years for each count of using a firearm in a crime of violence.
