WeDo LEGO Robotics – Cheerful Fans: For ages 8 and older, 2 p.m. Sept. 1. Hooray for the home team! Build a pair of cheering fans who can help you root for your favorite team. Kids will work in pairs to make this simple robot.

Kids Lab: For ages 6 and older, 4 p.m. Sept. 6. Discover how you can bring science and technology to life.

Now Playing: For ages 6 and older, 2 p.m. Sept. 7. Escape to the Library for an adventure on the Big Screen.

KC Zoomobile – Australia: For ages 5 and older, 7 p.m. Sept. 10. Go on an Australian-themed adventure with the Kansas City Zoo. Learn Aussie folklore and culture, and meet some animal friends from “down under.” Join the Zoo staff, and learn something new about Australia.

Kids Create: For ages 6 and older, 5 p.m. Sept. 11. Spark your imagination and express yourself through art and craft activities.

American Red Cross Blood Drive: 3 p.m. Sept. 12. Make an appointment to donate blood online at Eligible donors will need to be at least 17 years old (16 with written parental consent), weigh at least 110 lbs., and generally be feeling well the day of the donation. For eligibility questions, call the Red Cross at 866-236-3276. Please allow an hour for your donation and bring any form of photo ID with you.

Beginning Excel: For adults, 2 p.m. Sept. 14. Learn the basics about Microsoft Excel and how to format a simple spreadsheet.

Tech Talk: For adults, 2 p.m. Sept. 17. Whether you are a first-time computer user or have had lots of experience, there are always questions waiting to be asked about technology. Bring your questions to the branch, or just come to listen and learn from other participants. You can bring your own laptop computer or tablet.

Intermediate Excel: For adults, 2 p.m. Sept. 21. If you are ready to go beyond just making lists this class will teach you. A few new features include AutoFill, AutoSum, and sorting and filtering. Attendance of the program Beginning Excel is suggested.

Draw Caricatures with Marietta: For ages 10 and older, 2 p.m. Sept. 23. Learn to draw funny cartoon portraits of your friends and family. Caricature artist Marietta Williams will walk you through the basics of caricature. Then unleash your new drawing skills by drawing caricatures of your classmates.

Advanced Excel: For adults, 2 p.m. Sept. 28. Learn a few of the advanced options offered by Microsoft Excel such as writing a formula, goal seek, and filtering large amounts of data.
