The Truman Library Institute will host “A Presidential Friendship: Harry S. Truman and LBJ” next Wednesday at Unity Temple on the Plaza.

The event, which will begin at 6:30 p.m., will bring together Clifton Truman Daniel, the grandson of Harry S. Truman, and Luci Baines Johnson, Lyndon B. Johnson’s daughter. Their discussion will explore what it means to be a part of a presidential legacy, while also embarking on an individual path. Daniel has forged a career in public relations and journalism, and Johnson has become a leader in business and philanthropy.

In addition to sharing these experiences, the pair will also shed light on the friendship between President Truman and President Johnson. Mark Updegrove, president and CEO of the LBJ Foundation, will moderate the free public forum.

RSVP by visiting or by calling 816-400-1220. Unity Temple on the Plaza is at 707 W. 47th St. in Kansas City.
