Blue Springs police continue to investigate a vehicle crash that took the lives of three teenage boys.

It happened at about 8:10 Saturday night at Duncan Road and Indian Hills Street, between R.D. Mize Road and Missouri 7. Police said the three victims – two age 16, one age 15 – died at the scene. A fourth person was taken to the hospital but, according to police, “released without injury.”

Police have not released details of how the wreck happened, though tire tracks from the scene indicate the teens’ vehicle was westbound on Duncan Road and ultimately crashed into a tree off the north side of Duncan, just past the entrance for the Indian Hills Estates subdivision.

The posted speed limit in the area for Duncan Road is 35 mph. Friends have made a small memorial of flowers and balloons at the crash site.

The Examiner has confirmed the identity of one of the three, Darrian Warmack, a sophomore at Blue Springs South High School.

The deaths have rocked the community. There was talk on social media Sunday af a balloon release Monday evening at the Blue Springs Freshman Center in honor of the three.
