Lincoln service at Eastgate Christian

Eastgate Christian Church, 4010 S. River Boulevard, Independence, will host a special worship service at 10:25 a.m., Feb. 10 in honor of the 210th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's birth. The service will feature Lincoln-period hymns and music, and Rev. Joshua Patty will offer a sermon titled “Can These Bones Speak? The 12 Burials of Abraham Lincoln,” in which he reflects on why it took almost 40 years before the president's body could rest in peace and considers lessons for how we honor the dead.
