Local students earn academic honors from MidAmerica Nazarene

Several students from Eastern Jackson County were among the 418 who were named to the President's List, Dean's List and Honor Roll for the fall 2018 semester at MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, Kansas.

All students in traditional programs carrying 12 semester hours or more with a term GPA from 3.2 to 4.0 may qualify for one of these academic honors. Neutral credit hours are excluded from the calculation and reduce the course load used to figure the honor. The President's List is a 4.0 grade point average for the semester; Dean's List ranges from 3.5 to 3.99; and the Honor Roll is 3.2 to 3.49.

Independence student named to dean’s list at Hastings College

Joshua Merithew of Independence was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2018 semester at Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska.

For the semester, 317 students from 18 states and six countries were named to the dean’s list, with 234 students achieving a 4.0 grade point average, including Merithew, a Fort Osage High School graduate.

To be eligible, students must achieve a grade point average of 3.7 to 4.0 scale and be registered for full-time coursework.

 

Independence student earns dean’s list honors at Eastern New Mexico

Gunner Byrd of Independence has been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2018 semester for Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, New Mexico.

To be eligible for the dean's list, a student must complete a minimum of 15 credit hours with a GPA between 3.25 and 4.00.

 

Area students name to Lincoln dean’s list

Several local students have been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2018 semester at Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Mo.

In order to qualify for the dean's list, a student must acquire at least a 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale, with a minimum of 12 credit hours in qualifying course work.

Independence student named to dean’s list at Lake Erie College

Lacey Harris of Independence has been named to the fall 2018 dean's list at Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio.

Any degree-seeking student who has earned at least nine semester hours of credits at the college during a single academic term and achieved a semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher in a given semester is recognized as a Dean's List student for that semester.

 

Local students earn degrees from Graceland U.

Several students from Eastern Jackson County were among the students who were conferred degrees from Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa.

Graduates from 34 states and five countries earned 335 degrees. There were 158 bachelor's degrees earned, 166 master's degrees and 11 doctor of nursing practice degrees earned by 318 Graceland graduates.
