A Blue Springs man who found two people breaking into his shed this morning was shot and suffered what police called a non-life threatening wound.

Police were sent about 6:35 a.m. on a report of shots fired to the area of 19th Street and Stonecreek Drive, north of Moreland School Road. The victim, a 52-year-old man, had been shot once in the side after the bullet went through his vehicle windshield. He was able to call 911.

Police said the only suspect information they could learn was two white males. They stole two dirt bikes from the shed before they fled. Investigators are looking for a 1990s model white Chevrolet SUV (pictured) with a “noticeably loud exhaust.”
