QuikTrip is coming to Grain Valley for the first time.
The new convenience store will be at the northwest corner of the Interstate 70 and Main Street interchange. The city's Planning & Zoning Commission approved site plans during Wednesday's meeting, with projected completion in the spring of 2020. It will be one of QuikTrip's “Generation 3” model stores that have been constructed the last half-decade, which include a larger QT Kitchens area and a specialty hot and cold drink and ice cream area.
It will be in a vacant lot across the street from one of the three Casey's General Store locations in Grain Valley.
Grain Valley Partnership Director Tasha Lindsey said in a release that other area businesses will benefit from increased traffic.
“QuikTrip's selection process is very extensive,” Lindsey said. “They evaluate the site, traffic and the community to ensure they will be successful and the community will benefit.
QuikTrip Corporation has more than 700 stores nationwide.
