A wanted fugitive tried to enter the Lake City Army Ammunition Plan early Wednesday, leading to an altercation and the man being subdued.
The incident happened in the pre-dawn hours at the plant's main west entrance off Missouri 7, and no employees at the plant were injured, said Whitney Watson, a spokesperson for Northrop Grumman, which operates the plant. No further details, including the identity or injury status of the suspect, have been released.
The incident remains under investigation.
Lake City is a 4,000-acre facility that manufactures small-caliber ammunition for the United States government and commercial outlets.
