Independence Police are trying to identify the five individuals seen on surveillance video robbing a fireworks sale tent early Wednesday. According to a volunteer at the tent who posted on social media about the incident, one of the robbers pointed a gun at him as they fled the scene.

The theft happened about 1 a.m. Wednesday at the tent in the Price Chopper parking lot near 42nd Street and Noland Road. The thieves left with one large box of fireworks, valued at about $450, and dropped another on the way out. Proceeds from fireworks sales at that tent benefit the Child Abuse Prevention Association and Independence Pop Warner football.
