Two seniors at Van Horn High School have been honored by the Rotary Club of Independence as students of the month.

• Brandon Lowe is a senior who has been involved in multiple plays, theater activities, and broadcasting.

His video was chosen by the Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports committee at Van Horn. Brandon was also a homecoming king candidate at Van Horn.

Outside of school, Brandon works at a local movie theater.

Brandon hopes to attend film school after graduation.

He is the son of June Lowe.

• Viridiana Perez is a senior at Van Horn High School. She has been awarded the McCoy Award for academic excellence and is a member of the National Honor Society. She has also been awarded the KC Scholars Scholarship.

Viridiana has participated in sports including varsity soccer and varsity volleyball and has been a member of the Health Occupation Students of America, KC Health Tracks, and the multicultural club.

After graduation, Viridiana hopes to attend the University of Missouri for her undergraduate degree and to attend medical school.
