Two seniors at William Chrisman High School have been selected as the Rotary Students of the Month:

• Mallory McGraw is a member of the National Honor Society and has been on both the Chrisman Principal’s Honor Roll and the Metropolitan Community College Dean’s List. She has also received the McCoy Award for Academic Excellence.

Mallory serves as the senior class vice president and is currently a candidate to be homecoming queen. Mallory participates in several sports including volleyball and basketball. She also participates in community service, working with younger students to assist them with their reading and math skills.

On weekends, Mallory works at a local QuikTrip. She also attends Bethel Baptist Church and the youth group at Courageous Life Church.

Mallory’s plans include attendance at the University of Kansas, where she hopes to obtain a master’s degree in architecture.

Mallory is the daughter of Melanie and Steven McGraw.

• Jakob Johnson is a member of the National Honor Society, the Chrisman Principal’s Honor Roll, and has been awarded the McCoy Award for Academic Excellence. He participates in competitive speech and debate as well as the Chrisman orchestra. Jakob was selected to attend Missouri Boys’ State and participates in the Boy Scouts.

Jakob’s plan is to study journalism or economics as an undergraduate. He is also considering law school. Jakob hopes to attend the University of California at Berkeley, Georgetown University or the University of Chicago.

Jakob is the son of Deanna and Derek Johnson.
