The Jackson County Environmental Health Division inspects sites where food is served outside independence and Kansas City. Recent inspection results in Blue Springs include:

Yogurtini, 1122 N.E. Coronado Drive, inspected Sept. 12. No violations recorded.

Olive Garden Italian Restaurant, 801 N.E. Coronado Drive, inspected Sept. 13.

• The inside of the tea nozzle had a brown buildup. Corrected on site.

• Spatulas were stored on top of a cloth towel at the grill area. Corrected.

• Spatulas and knives were stored in sitting water which was dirty and not maintaining a temperature of 135 degrees.

Days Inn, 451 N.W. Jefferson St., Inspected Sept. 13.

• The interior of the microwave had dried food debris. Corrected on site.

• Hand cleaning soap was not provided at handwashing sink. Corrected on site.

Crown Liquor, 1005 N. Missouri 7, inspected Sept. 13.

• The ceiling tiles above one of the walk-in coolers and above the drink station are damaged and missing.

• There are no covered trash cans in the females’ restroom.

Papa Murphy’s, 2118 N.W. Missouri 7, inspected Sept. 13.

• Noticed sitting water in the reach-in cooler located under the make table.

• Inside the reach-in cooler there was a container of diced green peppers that was past its discard date. Manager quickly discarded. Corrected on site.

Walgreens, 1701 N.W. Missouri 7, inspected Sept. 13.

• There were boxes of food stored on the floor in the walk-in freezer. There were milk jugs stored on the floor in the walk-in cooler.

• There was trash/food debris on the floor in the walk-in cooler.

Smoothie Factory, 491 N.E. Coronado Drive, inspected Sept. 16.

• The blade on the can opener had dried food debris stuck to it. Corrected on site, manager quickly washed and sanitized the can opener.

• The handwashing sink had been used to store cleaning utensils in. Corrected.

Wendy’s, 310 N.W. Missouri 7, inspected Sept 16.

• There was a dead fly located in the bottom of the reach-in cooler next to ready-to-eat covered salads. Corrected.

• The gasket on the reach-in cooler located under the salad cooler on front line was torn and in disrepair.

• Unable to provide valid food handler cards for several employees.

Mr. Hibachi, 726 N. Missouri 7, inspected Sept. 16.

• There was a container of frozen beef sitting on the counter thawing.

• There was a dirty, rusted can opener on one of the prep tables. The owner discarded the can opener.

• Dirty knives were stored on the prep table. Corrected on site.

• Dirty measuring cups were stored in dry food items. Corrected on site.

• There was an accumulation of food debris on the inside of the handles of the pans.

• The make station had a buildup of food residue behind the make table lid and around the edges inside.

• Inside the walk-in cooler there was a heavy accumulation of debris on the wire racks.

•The hood vents had an excessive buildup of grease.

• The outside of the bowl that is used for breading had an accumulation of grease buildup.

• There was a package of raw, uncovered steak that was left in the walk-in cooler.

• Unable to obtain food handler permits for two employees.

Texas Roadhouse, 455 N.E. Coronado, inspected Sept. 16.

• There were multiple dirty dishes stored with clean dishes on the clean dish rack. Corrected on site.

• There were multiple personal drinks stored in prep areas. Corrected on site.

MOD Pizza, 1112 N.E. Coronado Drive, inspected Sept. 17.

• Observed employee drinking at the expo area and then placing drink on the expo counter where they cut and box the pizzas. Corrected on site.

• There were multiple clean dishes stored in dirty containers on the clean dish cart. Corrected on site.

Subway, 2910 S.W. Missouri 7, inspected Sept. 17.

• Unable to obtain food handler permits for several employees.

The Cake Pan, 609 N.W. R.D. Mize Road, inspected Sept. 17.

• There was a bungee cord stored in the handwashing sink. Corrected.

• There was trash/food debris on the floor of the walk-in freezer under the racks.

Minsky’s Pizza, 2201 N. Missouri 7, inspected Sept. 18.

• The interior of the microwave had dried food debris stuck to the top. Corrected on site.

• There was beef stored above hamburger buns in the walk-in freezer. Corrected on site.

• The floors under equipment had an accumulation of trash/food debris.

Rancho Grande Cantina, 501 N.W. Jefferson St., inspected Sept. 18.

• The soda nozzles on the soda machine on the waitress line had an accumulation of dried liquid.

• There was a bottle of liquor in the bar area that had dust and other unknown particles floating in the bottom. Corrected--manager discarded the bottle.

Casey’s General Store, 2424 S.W. Missouri 7, inspected Sept. 19.

• The in-use cloths were stored in a sanitizer that had a weak concentration and needed to be replaced. Corrected on site.

• The vents at the back of the store had a heavy accumulation of dust.

• The floor of the walk-in freezer had an accumulation of debris.

• The floors of the kitchen had an accumulation of debris.

• The microwave that is designated to be used by customers had an excessive accumulation of food throughout the interior. Corrected on site.

• The back storage room has an ice machine that is no longer in use and takes up unnecessary space.

Sonic Drive-In, 801 N.W. Woods Chapel Road, inspected September 23.

• The underside of the racks in the walk-in cooler had an accumulation of buildup.

• The sliding racks in the walk-in cooler had an accumulation of buildup in the crevices.

• The vents directly above the fryers had an accumulation of grease buildup.

• The side walls of the fryer had an accumulation of grease buildup.

Centerline Beach Volleyball, 1910 S.E. US 40, inspected Sept. 23.
