Independence’s 71st Annual Halloween Parade, hosted by the Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by CareNow Urgent Care, will be 10-11:30 a.m. Saturday around the Square.
The parade consists of numerous local businesses, organizations, marching bands and community leaders – plenty of them in costume and with candy to distribute.
Check-in for parade participants begins at 8 a.m.
The parade begins on Walnut Street at Pleasant, next to the Community of Christ Temple and LDS Visitors Center, then heads east to Main Street, north to Lexington Avenue, west to Spring Street and then north to Bess Truman Parkway before ending at McCoy Park.
The parade will take place rain or shine.
