WHAT: Van Horn High School presents “Lucky Stiff,” a murder mystery farce musical by Lynn Aherns and Stephen Flaherty (1988), directed by Jamie Yung and presented by special arrangment through Music Theatre International. The show opened Thursday night.

WHAT'S THE SHOW ABOUT: The offbeat musical is based on “The Man Who Broke the Bank At Monte Carlo,” by Michael Butterworth, complete with mistaken identities, casinos and a corpse in a wheelchair.

Harry, an unassuming English shoe salesman, is forced to take the embalmed body of his recently murdered uncle on a Monte Carlo vacation. Should he succeed in passing off his uncle as alive, he stands to inherit $6 millions. If not, the money goes to the Universal Dog Home of Brooklyn, or else his uncle's gun-toting ex.
