A candidate forum for District 4 of the Independence City Council is set for Tuesday.

The event, hosted by The Examiner, is at 7 p.m. in the community room of the South Independence branch of the Mid-Continent Public Library, 13700 E. 35th St.

The three candidates in the Fourth District are incumbent Tom Van Camp and challengers Chris Heitzman and Daniel Hobart.

They are on the Feb. 4 primary ballot. The two getting the most votes advance to the April 7 election.

The Fourth District is generally the southwest section of the city. Four council seats are up for election in April. Terms are four years.
