WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CST SATURDAY
WHAT...Heavy mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches with locally higher amounts and ice accumulations of up to two tenths of an inch. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.
WHERE...Portions of east central and northeast Kansas and north central, northwest and west central Missouri.
WHEN...From 6 PM this evening to 6 PM CST Saturday.
IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Temperatures will drop rapidly after sunset Friday, which could cause a flash freeze of any liquid water on roads and elevated surfaces in combination with the wintry mix already falling.
