A woman who allegedly robbed a Lee's Summit bank Thursday afternoon was caught by police as she fled the scene.
Police said they responded about 3 p.m. to the bank robbery report at the Bank of the West at the 700 block of Northeast Chipman Road. Officers learned a single suspect, a white female, had entered the bank, gave a note demanding money, then fled to a vehicle. But officers spotted the vehicle as she tried to leave, stopped it without incident and arrested the woman. She remains in custody pending charges.
