‘What Does the Lord Require’ is sermon theme
Amy Estep, the new president of the Community of Christ Central Mission Presidency, will speak on the theme of “What Does the Lord Require” this Sunday at Stone Church.
The church, 1012 W. Lexington in Independence, will hold services beginning at 10:15 a.m..

Troop 161 hosts chili, soup and potato bar
Scout Troop 161 will host its 16th annual chili, soup and potato bar Saturday at East Alton Community of Christ Church, 1699 E. 23rd St., Independence.
This event will be open from noon until 7 p.m. Meals, including chili, soup, chili dogs or baked potato and will come with a drink and dessert for $6 per person. Also available will be carry-out quarts of chili or soup.
This event will help support Troop 161 which includes Scouts and Cub Scouts.
Scout Troop 347 holds chili dinner
Boy Scout Troop is holding a chili dinner fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. (or until the chili runs out) Saturday at Good Shepherd Community of Christ, 4341 Blue Ridge Boulevard. The cost is $8. A quart of chili for your Super Bowl party is $5.
Clear Out the Clutter program offered
The Ascension Lutheran Church is presenting a program designed to help seniors declutter. Come and get tips and information on cleaning out clutter.
This program is offered, without charge, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Feb. 8, at the church, 4900 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City. Attendees will receive a free lunch.
