Get ready for another weekend of detouring around an Interstate 70 closure.

From 10 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21 to approximately 5 a.m. Monday, Feb. 24, the Missouri Department of Transportation will close I-70 in both directions at Interstate 435 to demolish the old I-435 bridges over I-70. It is part of MoDOT's two-year project to reconfigure the interchange between I-70 and I-435.

Two hours before the highway closure, crews will begin reducing I-70 to one lane in both directions near I-435.

Eastbound I-70 traffic will be reduced at Manchester Trafficway and will be detoured to southbound I-435. Motorists who need to continue on I-70 should take I-470.

Westbound I-70 traffic will be reduced at Blue Ridge Cutoff and then routed onto northbound I-435. Motorists who need to continue on I-70 should exit I-435 at 23rd Street, turn around and follow southbound I-435 back to I-70.

Crews have removed the left exit ramps from I-435, to be replaced by right exit flyover ramps, and have removed the right-exit loop ramps from I-70 to reconfigure them. MoDOT says the interchange reconstruction project is scheduled to be completed by December.
