Two suspects from a bank robbery Wednesday morning in Independence were captured in Overland Park, Kansas, after a police chase that reached near 110 mph.
The robbery happened at the First Federal Bank at the corner of Noland Road and 35th Street, where two people fled with an undisclosed amount of money, an FBI spokesperson said.
The ensuing high-speed chase on I-435 into Kansas, which involved several law enforcement agencies, reportedly topped 100 mph. The chase ended at a gas station a couple blocks north of I-435, and police captured the suspects after they tried to run into the surrounding neighborhood.
The suspects’ names have not been released.
