The Independence Chamber of Commerce candidate forum, which had been scheduled for Tuesday at the Midwest Genealogy Center, will instead be 7 p.m. at the Chamber of Commerce headquarters at 7 p.m. and will be presented as a Facebook Live event not open to the general public.

The event was moved after Mid-Continent Public Library canceled events in their library branches until further notice due to coronavirus precaution against the coronavirus. The Chamber and The Examiner all share the event on their Facebook pages.

Questions can be submitted online. With limited available space, each candidate can bring, at their direction, more than five family members to the event.

The Diversity and Inclusion Forum for local April 7 election candidates, which had been scheduled for Sunday afternoon at the North Independence Branch Public Library, has been canceled. Hosting Organizations included Community of Concerned Citizens, Eastern Jackson County Justice Coalition, Interfaith Council and Independence Ministerial Alliance.
