The Jackson County Health Department reported Friday the third COVID-19 patient death in Eastern Jackson County, a man in his 60s.

The department, as it has with the earlier deaths and first coronavirus patients, did not give his hometown.

The first two deaths, both women in their 80s, happened last Saturday and March 20.

Eastern Jackson County reached 132 total cases Thursday, two of whom have recovered. On Monday, the area had 70 confirmed cases. The 50-59 age range accounted for the most cases with 40, while the 40-49 age range has 25 cases.

Kansas City’s Health Department has reported 154 cases in the city, including its first deaths Thursday and Friday. Both the 40-49 and 30-39 age ranges have 29 cases apiece, and the 50–59 age range has 26 cases.
