Swope Health is conducting a free COVID-19 testing clinic Wednesday at the Trails West Branch of the Kansas City Public Library, 11401 E. 23rd St., Independence.
Testing is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Appointments are not needed, and both drive-throughs and walk-ups will be accommodated.
Swope Health will offer coronavirus testing to anyone who:
• Is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms such as cough, fever, headache, tiredness, muscle aches or new loss of taste or smell.
• Does not have symptoms but had close contact or exposure over the past 14 days to someone with COVID-19.
• Is considered high-risk, including those with an underlying chronic disease or condition that can weaken the immune system, health care and day care personnel, people older than 65 and people living with a disability.
Those who have symptoms but are unable to attend can call Swope Health at 816-923-5800 to schedule testing, or go to www.swopehealth.org for more information.
The Jackson County Health Department is also hosting free testing clinics Wednesday in Grain Valley and Thursday in Raytown, though citizens are asked to pre-register. Call 816-404-2273 to register.
In Grain Valley: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday in the parking lot behind the Community Center, 713 Main St.
In Raytown: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday in the parking lot at Connection Pointe Church, 10500 E. Missouri 350.
