Harvesters plans to distribute food to Jackson County residents on Monday. The event is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Truman Sports Complex, and people are asked not to arrive before 7 a.m.

Harvesters says there will be enough for 3,000 households, each of whom will get a box of nonperishable items, a box of produce and some frozen meat items.

Enter the sports complex at Gate 4 off Raytown Road. Drivers will be directed to Lot L. Harvesters asks that no more than two households be represented in each vehicle.

Volunteers and members Missouri National Guardsmen, wearing masks and gloves, will load food into cars.

Harvesters serves 26 counties in the metro area and beyond. Those in need can find a food pantry, food kitchen or mobile food distribution near their home by entering their ZIP Code in the agency locator on the “Get Help” page of Harvesters’ website: www.harvesters.org.
