Motorists on Interstate 435 across the Missouri River will see several traffic changes over the next few days as part of the bridge rehabilitation project.
Crews from the Missouri Department Transportation have made or will make the following the changes:
• Close the two left lanes of northbound I-435 between Front Street and Missouri 210 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday for bridge work. This also happened Thursday.
• Close the left two lanes of southbound I-435 between 48th Street and M-210 (north of river) from 7 p.m. next Monday until 5 a.m. Tuesday for pavement repairs.
• Close the ramps from Parvin Road to southbound I-435 and from southbound I-435 to M-210 (north of river) from 7 p.m. Monday until 5 a.m. Tuesday for pavement repairs.
MoDOT cautions that the road closure could lead to significant traffic slowdowns. The work is part of MoDOT’s ongoing project to replace the bridge deck, reinforce structural steel and repair aging substructure.
The bridge, built in 1972, carries about 81,500 vehicles per day, the project is scheduled for completion in December 2021.
