Oak Grove - Ruth Mary Baker Grote, 93, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at Wilshire at Lakewood Care Center in Lee's Summit, MO. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 27th at the Oak Grove United Methodist Church; burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until service time at the church. The family requests everyone wear masks. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Oak Grove United Methodist Women.

Ruth was born on January 25, 1928, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Arthur A. and Bertha G. (Hampton) Baker. Preceding her in death were her husband of 50 years, William "Bill" E. Grote Jr.; sons, Gregory L. Grote and William Art Grote; five brothers: C.W., Roy, Jim, and Rex Baker, and Vernal Hampton; and her parents.

Survivors include her son, Douglas E. Grote; granddaughters: Hope Grote White (Jason) of Colorado Springs, CO, and Taylor Grote Cumpton (Preston) of Garden City, MO; step-grandsons: Tony Schwappach (Melissa) of Rockwall, TX, and Bryan Schwappach (Emily) of Liberty, MO; three step-great-grandsons: Austin, Ethan, and Cullen Schwappach; sisters-in-law, Jean Baker and Joyce Baker; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
