BLUE SPRINGS – Robert “Brian” Seydlitz, 77, a Blue Springs, MO resident passed away peacefully Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. He was born February 18, 1944 to Thure and Greta (Lundberg) Seydlitz in Chicago, IL.
Brian is a 1962 graduate of Carl Shurz High School in Chicago, IL. He spent the majority of his working career in motor home sales, and recently retired from the Blue Springs School District where he worked as a school bus driver. Brian was united in marriage to Kathy (Miller) Wilcox on October 23, 2021 in Blue Springs, MO. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Blue Springs where he was a member of the Men of Praise Choir. Brian was also a member of the Kansas City Metro Men’s Choir, he also enjoyed playing the organ, and camping.
Survived by his wife, Kathy Seydlitz of Blue Springs, MO; daughter, Julie Seydlitz and husband Robert O’Dea of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; son, Jeff Seydlitz and wife Kristen of Lake in the Hills, IL; grandchildren, Abby, Mackenzie, Hailey, Peyton, Jonathan; great-grandson, Michael. Brian is preceded in death by his parents, Thure and Greta Seydlitz; brother, Kenn Seydlitz.
Funeral service was held 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 31, 2022 at First United Methodist Church of Blue Springs, 301 S.W. Woods Chapel Rd, Blue Springs, MO. The family received friends and family following the service at the church. Burial will be held Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Oak Haven Memorial Gardens in Herman, MO. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to First United Church of Blue Springs in Brian’s honor.
