Roberta Jean Wakefield was born on July 18, 1936 in Atchison, KS, daughter of James Richard Lee Wakefield and Veta Pearl (Like) Wakefield. She passed away on April 10, 2022. She was preceded in death by brother Richard L. Wakefield of Oak Grove and survived by sister Glenda G. Goldsmith and husband Herb Goldsmith of Independence. Roberta was a member of Englewood Assembly of God church for many years and she retired from the Army Corps of Engineers after 30 years of service. The family would like to recognize and thank Jackie Dotson for the countless hours of selfless devotion and care that she gave to Roberta and her family.

Her memorial service will be held at Englewood Church, 10628 Winner Rd in Independence on Friday, April 29 with visitation at 6:30 pm and service at 7:00 pm.
